Message from the President

Charifa Lalla Soumia EL OUAZZANI, President of Special Olympics Morocco

Since its foundation in 1994 by the late Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Amina, Special Olympics Morocco has been committed to providing renewed opportunities in sports disciplines and associated activities. Our efforts to develop sports and support programs for athletes with intellectual disabilities are recognized through numerous awards in national, regional, and international competitions.

The remarkable evolution of Special Olympics Morocco since its inception has encouraged all programs and projects aimed at the inclusion of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports. By adhering to the Strategic Plan of Special Olympics International, we emphasize the development of our athletes, associations, and affiliated organizations, as well as the enhancement of the skills of our educators, coaches, and coordinators.

We would like to express our gratitude to our national, regional, and international partners for their continuous support. We also pay tribute to the noble mission of Special Olympics International and thank the presidency of the Middle East and North Africa region for their valuable collaboration and contribution to monitoring regional and international activities.

We implore the Almighty to help us perpetuate the work of the late Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Amina and to fulfill the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the promotion of sports among individuals with special needs.

Charifa Lalla Soumia EL OUAZZANI, President of Special Olympics Morocco
