A day of sport in track cycling and weightlifting
On Friday, June 12, 2026, Special Olympics Morocco athletes took part in a day dedicated to inclusion, performance, and personal achievement through two sporting events held simultaneously.
In partnership with the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, an Open Day was organized at the Bourgogne Velodrome to introduce athletes to track cycling. Participants had the opportunity to discover the discipline before competing in time trial races divided into several divisions, ensuring fair and balanced competition for athletes of different ability levels.
At the same time, the National Weightlifting Championship brought together the organization’s top athletes for a performance evaluation aimed at identifying future selections. The championship provided participants with the opportunity to assess their progress, demonstrate their strength and determination, and compete in an inclusive environment that promotes equal opportunities. This day once again reflected Special Olympics Morocco’s commitment to providing athletes with intellectual disabilities access to quality sports programs that encourage personal growth, skill development, and competitive excellence. Congratulations to all the athletes, coaches, and partners whose dedication contributed to the success of this memorable sporting event.
