Launch of the first national adapted karate training program

On May 18–19, 2026, Special Olympics Morocco reached a new milestone in the development of its sports programs by organizing its first National Adapted Karate Training at the Royal Institute for the Training of Sports Executives Moulay Rachid.
This initiative marks the official introduction of karate into the Special Olympics Morocco sports program and reflects the organization’s commitment to expanding sporting opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
A total of 77 participants attended the training. The program began with theoretical sessions led by Special Olympics Morocco and the Mohammed VI Foundation of Fez, followed by practical training on the tatami under the supervision of an accredited coach from the African Karate Federation.
This inaugural training represents an important step in the development of adapted karate in Morocco, opening new opportunities for athletes, coaches, and clubs committed to promoting inclusive sport. Special Olympics Morocco extends its sincere appreciation to all partners, instructors, and participants whose contribution made this successful initiative possible, marking the beginning of a new chapter for adapted karate in Morocco.
