Gold medal in football at the UAE National Games 2026

The Special Olympics Morocco delegation proudly participated in the UAE National Games 2026 in Abu Dhabi, enjoying a rewarding experience that combined sporting excellence with the values of inclusion.

Comprising 11 athletes and supported by a 16-member delegation, the Moroccan football team delivered an outstanding performance, winning the gold medal after an impressive tournament. The team faced ZHO Abu Dhabi during the group stage and again in the final, as well as Al Tiqah Club and Sharjah Club, demonstrating determination, teamwork, and exceptional sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Alongside the sporting events, the delegation took part in the Healthy Athletes program, benefiting from Opening Eyes, Special Smiles, Fit Feet, and Health Promotion screenings, which provide health education, preventive care, and services that support athletes’ overall well-being. The athletes also joined the Run Together activity, further promoting friendship, inclusion, and unity among participants.

Special Olympics Morocco extends its sincere appreciation to His Excellency Mr. Ahmed Tazi, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Arab Emirates, for his presence and valuable support throughout the Games.

This gold medal is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Moroccan delegation and represents another proud achievement for Special Olympics Morocco, reflecting the organization’s commitment to excellence, inclusion, and the empowerment of athletes with intellectual disabilities.
