Fast Paces and Great Teamwork: Our Unified Tournament in Marrakech!

From February 16th to 17th, we headed to Marrakech for an incredible sports gathering at the Salle Omnisports de M’hamid (SONARGES)! Our 150 athletes took over the courts for the National Unified Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament, and the energy in the room was unmatched. It was the perfect stage for them to test their skills, pick up new techniques, and build serious confidence.

The whole event thrived on true collaboration. We were joined by fantastic unified badminton partners from @a.v.o.b.m1 in Marrakech, as well as the Ligue Marrakech-Safi de tennis de table. Having them play right alongside our athletes brought a whole new level of inclusion and teamwork to the games. Plus, everything ran smoothly thanks to 5 of our Special Olympics Morocco staff members, 5 dedicated volunteers, and 8 referees who kept the matches organized and highly encouraging.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t just about who won the matches. This unified tournament gave everyone a space to express themselves completely, grow their independence, and embrace fair play.
